About Hal:

Meet Hal Valeche

Hal Valeche is a proven conservative whom we can count on to represent us in Congress.

At age 16, he entered Yale University and graduated in 1969 with a degree in American Studies. Shortly after graduation, he entered the US Navy’s flight training program and eventually graduated first in his class from the program and was assigned to the naval air station at Miramar, California, as a fighter pilot.

During the Vietnam War, Hal served our nation proudly as a member of Fighter Squadron 191 on board the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany.  As a Navy Fighter Pilot, he flew eighty-five combat missions, logged 230 carrier landings, and received six air medals.  While in Vietnam, he saw firsthand how the leaders in Washington affect decisions on the front lines.  Hal knows that to win the war on terror, we must fight the terrorists on their turf so they don’t attack us here at home.

After leaving the Navy, Hal attended the Wharton School where he received an MBA in finance, was named to the Director’s List for academic achievement, and eventually met his future wife Stephanie.  Upon graduating from Wharton, Hal worked as an investment banker until the early 90s then continued his business career here as a merger specialist for a public company and an entrepreneur.

The need for conservative leadership on the local level drew Hal to run for public office.  He saw runaway spending, poor fiscal management, and lots of talk but no action.  Hal wanted to turn things around and bring about conservative change.  In 2002, Hal entered public life when he was elected to the Board of Supervisors of the Northern Palm Beach County Improvement District, where he served as Vice-President in 2003 and 2004. Hal successfully ran for an open seat on the Palm Beach Gardens City Council in 2004 and was re-elected without opposition in March 2005. While on the council, Hal has been a consistent advocate of lower taxes and limited government.

He launched his campaign for the US Congress in early February. Hal and Stephanie have one daughter, Claire, who was born in 1998.

Their family resides at 128 Viera Drive in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

"Washington needs a leader who can shake things up and change the status quo.  I have consistently been an advocate for smaller taxes and less spending -- something Washington needs.  I'll bring my business background and proven fiscal record to Capitol Hill and make the changes we need."
